This is for general elevator talk, like fixtures, which brands is the best, or worst, and the like.
Leave the elevator ride videos in the "Elevator Rides" Forum.
Thanks.

First post here. I like most elevators, but like most people, can't stand the DoverKrupp BUZZ.

First post here. I like most elevators, but like most people, can't stand the DoverKrupp BUZZ. You don't like the Dover Buzz? Who DOESN'T LOVE the Dover Buzz?? The short, quiet ones I don't mind, it's the loud, long ones that are annoying. Wonder why ThyssenKrupp had to mess with mediocrity?

Oh, that long/loud one that TK decided to create really drives me up the wall.
The buzz change kind of reminds me of a fast food story; after CKE (Hardees, Carl's Jr.) acquired Burger Shef in the 1980s, years later Hardees decided to bring back a Burger Shef burger called the big shef and make it into a tasteless dud. That's probably similar to what TK did with the Dover Buzz.

Don't have those food chains around here, except the ultra-big ones (you know which those would be).
I get it, though. I was wondering if my City Hall elevator video uses a replacement buzzer, being sick of the Dover one that might've been inside? There's plenty of places that get it changed out because of it's annoyance factor.

I'd imagine so, but for a City Hall building with limited floors annoyance wouldn't be that big of a factor. Now musicfreakcc recently filmed a Dover BUZZ world record; it took place on a TK traction at the Viceroy Hotel & Residences Miami. It was 50 (express 1-15) floors, so there were ~35 DoverKrupp buzzes.
Thankfully, they were the staccato buzzes but I could see something of that nature happening in that scenario. Imagine having to take an elevator like that to work everyday.. Even worse, imagine if you had to hear 35 DoverKrupp buzzes of the longer kind in a row.

No, I don't want to imagine that, especially if it's about 1.5 floors/second! BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.......................................... "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!!!! MAKE IT STOP, PLEASE, O GOD, MAKE IT STOP......(sob)..."
